"The Romantic Dragon" - Social
- Developed by Manfriday "The Romantic Dragon' main focus would be on solutions to problems faced by societies today. With given emphasis to Singapore, the site intends to identify critical day to day questions about living. The cause and effect of this site would be to identify "in between the lines" and hopefully suggest solutions to readers. The areas of discussions would be;
- Destitution and its relations ( E.g. Finance Assistance and Housing).
Jobs ( More suited for the destitute)
Tentatively the site is considering areas such as holiday or product reviews.
In the coming future the site would also like to include work from Co writers or other co -operatives.
About Manfriday
Adapted from a character called "Friday" from the William Dafoe book "Robinson Crusoe". "Friday" was the first friend Robinson Crusoe made when marooned on the island. Subsequently, "Friday" became instrumental in restoring a sense of normality to the despairing Robinson Crusoe.
- Having aquired a background in Social Services and Psychology the author has been involved largely in Regional efforts, most of which were hands on where it required him to be onsite for assesments. After spending a considerable amount of time in that area, the author developed an interest and through self discovery and realized the many problems and tragedies affecting people even in civilised and developed cities. Through close observation and asking the author sifted through case studies of a different kind, being more specific; Psychologically rooted causes and the physical devastation it causes to a person in the course of living. Finding indirect causes to habits such as Gambling, Drugs and other unhealthy obsessions became a thought to ponder, in turn manifested itself on online through "The Romantic Dragon" and other mediums. This blog hopes to offer aid to the community with "a bottom side up" approach, to focus on problems which occur from the after effects of certain actions. It is in no way scientific in nature or aspiration but aims plainly to be a helping hand !
- The author is in his 50's and likes reading, music listening, learning new concepts and movie watching in his free time. His favourite authors are Henri Charierre, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Stephen King to name a few and his list of movie likes are epic ones such as Gladiator, The Mission, 300 and most of the films by Coppola and Scorcese.
- The author is keen to develop an online presence by adopting a neutral and iconic symbol e.g. Manfriday, which may appeal hopefully to all cultures, religions and social groups.
